Albert D. Gray Jr., Age: 82, passed away on September 11, 2017. Beloved husband and father, Al grew up in Carlstadt NJ with his parents Albert and Francis Gray and brothers Glenn and Ronald. He earned the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps where he obtained his parachute license and enjoyed sport parachuting for many years. Al was the first identical twin to graduate from the New Jersey State Police Academy with his brother Ronald Gray. Albert D. Gray Jr., Age: 82, passed away on September 11, 2017. Beloved husband and father, Al grew up in Carlstadt NJ with his parents Albert and Francis Gray and brothers Glenn and Ronald. He earned the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps where he obtained his parachute license and enjoyed sport parachuting for many years. Al was the first identical twin to graduate from the New Jersey State Police Academy with his brother Ronald Gray. Obtaining his Bachelors and Master's Degree from NYU he continued with post-graduate studies at Columbia and held positions as Director of Newark Juvenile Detention Center, Superintendent Trenton State Prison, Commissioner Westchester County Department of Corrections, Deputy Commissioner New York City Department of Corrections under Ed Koch, Division Director NJ State Parole Board, and Substance Abuse Counselor South River School District.

Al lived in Brielle New Jersey for the past 30 years and enjoyed running, gardening, walking, and reading. He is survived by his wife, Alma, sons Jason of Wall, Cliff and fiancée Alicia of Brielle, Brother Glenn and sister-in-law Jackie of Island Heights and brother and sister-in-law Tom and Donna of Schenectady, NY.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers you make a donation in Albert's name to the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan, New Jersey.
